Writing About My Life
The best gift anyone can leave the future generations is the tales or stories of your own life. To detail why you chose a certain path in life, the obstacles you encountered and how you overcame them. This wealth of knowledge is precious and everyone, no matter how famous or anonymous, has wisdom to share with others.
During the Christmas holidays I uncluttered our home but deciding to throw out an object that held a memory proved an agonising task. The objects are worthless without the memory, so the problem became how to preserve the memory but pass on the object. Obviously, I need to write down those memories to preserve them for my kids and those who follow us. However, I often procrastinate on these projects without a suitable motivator. That is why I created Maddog Tales.
Maddog Tales is a twelve month project to preserve my stories, the memories of my life so far and to impart the wisdom or ignorance attained thus far. Secondly, it provides an opportunity to have my writing critiqued, to develop my voice and be prepared to publish Maddog Tales as a book in 2010.
I hope you enjoy the stories and I look forward to your comments.

It’s a great idea to work on an autobiography in a blog. I’m glad that you have the ambition to publish it as a book next year. Great goal, good luck!
